What we believe about children
Children are not empty vessels waiting to be filled.
They are human beings already becoming.
Our responsibility is not to decide who they will become.
It is to give them the knowledge, experiences, questions and space to discover it consciously.
Why Growth Universe exists
Academic achievement is not complete preparation for life.
School teaches children how to
Read, calculate, remember, analyse and achieve.
But life asks different questions
Can you understand yourself? Can you make a difficult choice? Can you contribute to something larger than yourself?
These are not extracurricular questions. They are life questions.
Founder story
Growth Universe began with a question: Why do we make it so difficult to learn how to live?
While pursuing her master's in the United States, Shreya began reading the Bhagavad Gita. She found ideas about life, responsibility, self-understanding, difficulty and how we choose to live that felt deeply relevant — yet strangely absent from the education she had received.
Looking back, many of the things she eventually had to learn — self-worth, heartbreak, understanding herself, communicating, making difficult decisions, building healthy relationships, managing money, handling adversity, her place in society — were lessons life taught her, rather than lessons education had prepared her for. But wisdom does not have to come only through hardship. The foundations for navigating life can be nurtured deliberately.
Academic knowledge matters. But knowing information is not the same as knowing how to live. She saw highly educated people with enormous knowledge in their professions who did not necessarily know how to conduct themselves with empathy, judgment, responsibility or balance.
The question was no longer “What should children learn?” It became:
“What kind of human being should education help create?”
Growth Universe grew from that question: the belief that the foundations for a meaningful life — understanding yourself, thinking, deciding, relating, handling money and technology, living with character, contributing to society — can be developed early. The aim is not to replace academic education, but to expand what we believe education is for.
Children should not have to wait for life to break them before they learn how to hold themselves together.
The philosophy

Growth Universe draws from Indian Knowledge Systems and India's intellectual and philosophical traditions while responding to the realities of contemporary childhood.
We believe children need both: roots and range. The goal is not to make children memorise ancient ideas. It is to give them ideas worth thinking with.
We don't teach children to live in the past. We give them roots strong enough to meet the future.
